Depression and Anxiety ☀️

Most if not all of us experience depression and anxiety in our lives. Studies show that mental illness may be on the rise, even when we check all society’s boxes for happiness; career, family, beauty, etc. So what solution has our society provided for the issue of mental health? Drugs. Of course your body doesn’t produce enough dopamine. So here’s a pill that supplements it. This just leaves us in a perpetual cycle of drugs and depression.
What have we forgotten? That our bodies are hardwired for survival for hundreds of thousands of years. Depression and anxiety are just signals from our body we are in danger! If we merely suppress these warnings, there will be no light in our lives. Listen to your body! It will tell you what’s good and bad for you!
So what to do when you feel anxious and depressed? Take care of yourself! Diet, Exercise, Rest. The three pillars of health. Cut out stressors of your life whether it be alcohol, work or relationships. Just because society tells you that you need something, does not mean it’s right for you. When you get these feelings, challenge them in your mind. Find out what the real issue is, and take action to find happiness for yourself.
