It's time to legalize mutual combat.

Not only should mutual combat be legal in all 50 states, it should be more culturally accepted as well.
At time of writing, only 2 states, Washington and Texas allow mutual combat. Which for Texas sounds reasonable, surprising for Washington however. That aside though, I believe this would help our society grow as a whole. Culturally we have two issues I think could benefit from this.
The first; gun violence. We all know gun violence is a huge problem in our country. Even though I am a staunch supporter of gun rights, I have the insight to recognize the issue at the same time. However, what is the root of gun violence? It's the violence aspect. Too many cowards today hide behind a gun to feel tough. They're all bark, but when it's time to show up, they back down. They know they ain't as real as they claim to be. So how does it get resolved? Pullin' out their 9 and trying to intimidate their opposition. This is outright cowardly. It's time that Americans back up their shit talk. Put down the guns and put up their fists.
Having a federal mutual combat law would benefit nationwide because instead of people running from a fight to pull a gun, including catching a potential homicide charge, they could really show who they are. People would have to declare prior to a fight that they do not have and do not intend to use any weapons other than their own body. I feel this would be particularly beneficial for communities ravaged by gun violence. Because there's truly no way to show domination over somebody than by physically besting them in front of your peers.
The second benefit; reduction of "Karens". Although I despise the term, it is a suiting description of another issue we have in our country. The problem being, idiots of all shapes, sizes, genders and races think they can shove a camera into your face and say whatever the hell they want. Too many people want to scream and cry and play victim every day. Well, now would be the time to stand up for yourself! You've got a problem with somebody? Air it out, without the worry of being sued. Too many people are comfortable with verbally harassing others without consequences. Well now, you verbally harass somebody, you better be able to back it up, or you really are just a "Karen".
All in all, people are too comfortable either pushing the boundaries of harassment, or going 0 to 100 real quick with murder. It's time we get back to the American spirit, the "Wild West" toughness we used to be known for. Bring back mutual combat for the good of our society.
